TCS&D TRADE SHOW AND AWARDS 2019 - Summary

After a fantastic couple of days at the Temperature Controlled Storage and Distribution (TCSD) Show, we’re back in the office. It has certainly been a whirlwind two days and we have loved every minute of it. There were so many highlights it’s difficult to choose just one, so, we’re going to reflect on the parts that made 2019’s TCSD Show such a positive experience for us.

We were delighted to see so many of our customers over the two days. After months in development, it was good to finally be able to showcase our new refrigeration spares online ordering platform. We were always confident that the platform would be popular with our customers but hearing such positive feedback, particularly how much time and money the platform can save customers, was a special moment for us.

It was a pleasure, as always, to see Jason Longhurst, Director at Longhurst Refrigeration, along with all of his super-dedicated team (special shout-out to Service Manager, Fred Allen, for doing such a fantastic job supporting Jason over the two days). Over the coming weeks and months, as we continue to improve and develop our online ordering platform, our Operations Director, Karol Smoter, will be working with R2C online management system and Jason, to develop the platform further and take it to the next level.

We will be collaborating with Jason to integrate our online ordering platform with their existing system, for ‘real time’ stock replacement in all Longhurst Refrigeration’s engineer’s vans. By integrating our two systems, Longhurst Refrigeration will be able to replace parts used on a call out immediately – no fuss, no hassle – saving precious time and money. We’re looking forward to getting started with this exciting project!

On day one of the show, we were thrilled to be joined by Michal Adamczyk, official representative from Valeo. Michal was on our stand answering questions regarding the new R404a/ R452a TM series compressors and the benefits of using them on all transport refrigeration applications. It was great to have an expert on the R404a/ R452a TM series on hand – so a great big thank you to Michal for joining us and providing such helpful information to our customers. Also a massive thank you to Valeo for their on-going and continued support of Myriad in all areas of our business together.

Another highlight was having Orbcomm representative, Charles McGilvray, officially join us on our stand. Charles spoke about Orbcomm’s acquisition of Euroscan Holdings, back in 2014, and the powerful impact it could have on the UK’s transportation and heavy equipment sectors. Euroscan develops systems to monitor compliance with regulations on refrigerated transportation temperatures and serves customers in the global food and pharmaceuticals industries. Charles commented on the present structure and the opportunity to improve service efficiency, with the help of companies like Myriad Parts.

On the evening of the first day of the show, it was awards time! As proud sponsors of the Transport Refrigeration Service Provider of the Year Award, this was a ‘not to be missed’ event for us. Our Operations Director, Karol Smoter, took to the stage to present the award, and the winner was……. Carrier Transicold UK!!! The award was received by Managing Director for Northern Europe, Scott Dargan. We would like to say a huge well done to the whole team at Carrier Transicold UK for achieving this well-deserved award. Customer service is obviously very close to our hearts here at Myriad, so it was an honour to present the award to Scott and his team.

It was a busy and tiring couple of days but we’re still buzzing – a big thank you to all our customers who came along to our stand and made the event such a success for us. All that’s left to say now is, stay in touch, look out for more positive developments with our online ordering platform and we look forward to seeing you all again very soon.
